Yellow Camera captures a webpage only after the user explicitly invokes the extension. It temporarily accesses the selected active tab to measure, scroll, and capture that page.
Data handled by the extension
To provide the requested screenshot, Yellow Camera temporarily handles:
- the visible contents of the webpage selected by the user;
- the page title and URL, used locally to label the result and downloaded filename;
- image fragments created while assembling the full-page screenshot;
- drawing annotations and crop selections the user adds on the local result page;
- the user's chosen interface language.
The public version does not build a browsing-history profile or monitor browsing in the background. It temporarily handles only the URL and title of the page the user explicitly chooses to capture. Visible form values may appear only as pixels in the screenshot, exactly as they are displayed on the selected page; the extension does not separately extract or store form-field values as structured data. It does not access cookies, unmasked passwords, or authentication tokens as separate browser data, contains no analytics or advertising identifiers, and does not read the user's clipboard.
How data is used
Page content is used only to create, locally review, crop, annotate, copy, or export the screenshot explicitly requested by the user. Cropping is non-destructive while the result tab is open: it changes the selected output area without modifying the original local capture. Processing takes place locally in the user's browser.
Collection, transmission, and sharing
Yellow Camera does not transmit page contents, screenshots, titles, URLs, crop selections, annotations, or usage data to Slugfeed LLC or any third party. It contains no analytics, advertising, tracking, remote code, or user accounts. Slugfeed LLC does not sell user data.
Local storage and deletion
Temporary screenshot fragments and capture metadata are stored in the extension's local IndexedDB storage so the result page can assemble the requested output. Expired sessions are automatically deleted on the next browser startup or the next capture after they become older than approximately 24 hours. If neither event occurs, local data can remain longer; users can remove it immediately by uninstalling Yellow Camera or clearing its extension data in Chrome.
The interface-language choice is stored locally with Chrome extension storage. Users can remove extension data immediately by uninstalling Yellow Camera or clearing its extension data in Chrome.
Downloaded PNG and PDF files, including locally cropped or annotated outputs, remain wherever the user chooses to save them. The completed PNG may be placed on the device clipboard after the user starts a capture or clicks Copy PNG. Yellow Camera requests no clipboard-read access and never reads existing clipboard contents.
Permissions
- activeTab: grants temporary access only to the tab on which the user invokes Yellow Camera.
- scripting: measures and scrolls the selected page, temporarily adjusts repeated fixed or sticky elements for capture, and restores the page afterward.
- storage: remembers the user's interface-language choice locally.
- clipboardWrite: places only the user-requested completed PNG, including a local crop or annotations when present, on the device clipboard; it cannot read existing clipboard contents.
Limited Use
Yellow Camera's use of information received from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to provide or improve the extension's single user-facing purpose, is not used for advertising or creditworthiness, is not sold or transferred, and is not made available for human review.
Future features
If a future version introduces paid features or any cloud/AI processing, Slugfeed LLC will update this policy and the Chrome Web Store disclosures before release. Any transmission of page content would require a clear in-product disclosure and the user's affirmative consent.
